On the 5th May we attended the Swift Performance Cars and Coffee meet in Aylesbury and did a Fastest Lap of the day competiton driving the infamous Swift Performance Team Schirmer M2 around the Nurburgring GP circuit. Russ has been building and developing our car for years so we thought it was about time we built a virtual version of his M2 track monster!
The virtual M2 has all the Swift decals, BBS wheels, Carbon Aero and Full race suspension, brakes and tyres. We opted not to increase the horsepower as it made the thing undrivable.
We took our new Logitech Pro bundle which consists of our new Aluminium Pro Sim Rig and the new Logitech Direct Drive and Load Cell pedals. What a combination!
On the day we had over 50 people take part in the Nurburgring GP challenge with some very fast times posted. Fastest lap time of the day was a 2:05.555 posted by Matt Ridout with some other fast boys including Brad Haverly and Tim Williams trying desperately to improve on it. We managed a 2:06 flat so we are now back at base practicing!!!!
What we love about this is the transition from virtual to the real thing and how realistic these games are. We have a DN Events trip coming up so we will be getting some practice in to see how close we can get our Nordschliefe virtual lap times to the thing!
